Meet the Author
Harry Potter had it so easy!
He had an enormous under-stair cupboard. Me? I got a kitchen drawer.
I really did begin life in a drawer—not metaphorically, literally. My older sister got the only cot we could afford, so for the first few weeks of my life, my parents kept me in a drawer.
Occasionally, they’d remember to open it and feed me; but I’m not going to tell you about the mess!
With four siblings, I was used to fighting for space. Maybe that’s why I’ve spent my life looking for bigger battlefields. Now, I write high-speed, strategy-driven Military Sci-Fi & Space Opera, where cunning commanders, elite soldiers, and alien warlords fight for survival on the fringes of space.
Since escaping the cutlery drawer, I’ve lived in four countries and traveled to over 80. The high point was probably the months I spent hitchhiking alone across America, wearing my kilt.
I've studied how empires rise and fall. It turns out that whether it’s ancient Rome, Napoleon, or a fleet of warships in deep space, good strategy always wins the day.
My stories have won multiple sci-fi awards, and if you enjoy the razor-sharp tactics of David Weber, the high-stakes battles of Rick Partlow, or the smart humor of John Scalzi, you’ll feel right at home in my universe.
